New AFL Yarra Ranges FDM

The AFL Yarra Ranges is pleased to announce the appointment of Danny Ryan to the role of Football Development Manager with AFL Yarra Ranges. Danny comes to us after running his own communications company for a number of years and has strong ties to both his community and football in the Yarra Ranges region with over 30 years’ experience in the AFL Yarra Ranges region as a player, coach and mentor.

Danny spent time spent as the senior coach at the Woori Yallock Football Netball Club where he implemented processes to support club volunteers involving younger members of the club and has a sound understanding of what it takes to run a successful community club. In 2017 season Danny was the midfield coach with the Eastern Ranges and has coaching experience as an assistant coach in not only elite programs but has coached several community teams of his own. Danny coached three premierships at the Woori Yallock Football Netball Club in Division 1 of the YVMDFL from 2012-2014 and has been a successful coach at Interleague level with AFL Yarra Ranges from 2015-2017 which further highlights his coaching experience.

Danny is passionate about his local community and the growth of football in the AFL Yarra Ranges region. He has been involved with his local NAB AFL Auskick centre as well as in the capacity of a volunteer with Woori Yallock JFC where he has coached at Under 9 and Under 16 level. In addition to this, Danny has been involved with V/Line Cup and has been AFL Yarra Ranges’ Coaching Ambassador for the last three years where he has worked closely with clubs and coaches in the Dandneong Ranges JFL to improve their performance and club environment.

Danny brings with him a range of experiences across community football from NAB AFL Auskick through to senior football, working with volunteers and supporting the growth and sustainability of the game. Danny will commence with AFL Yarra Ranges on Monday, December 4
